Kontrol

In my last blog post Optimus has no feelings I wrote about the need of safety controls for robots to prevent malfunctions during operation.

Today I want to introduce Kontrol. Kontrol, located in Linz, Austria is working on control algorithms for the safety of any kind of devices. Conceptual they put the devices into a  dynamic safe sandbox. Within the sandbox any kind of algorithm or AI can do its magic. As soon they hit 🎯 the limitations of the sandbox, Kontrol is taking over the control 😃. Kontrol is managed by a good friend of mine Andreas Lauringer.

Andreas and I share the same conviction about autonomous devices: They will provide huge benefits for planetary life, but we, as engineers, must take care that these devices act safely and don’t cause any endangerment or harm for the human societies.
